How To Use Oils To Combat Body Odor




Everything you eat, medications you are taking, shifts in hormone levels, or any underlying disorders may all be behind a sudden change in your smell. Changes in body odor are part of our development, like puberty. During puberty, sweat glands and hormones become more active, which might cause Body odor.
 Sweating is the body's natural way to regulate its temperature. It's common when we exercise, when feeling stressed, nervous, or anxious.  
Sweat itself is odorless when your skin is clean but once the bacteria on the skin is mixed with sweat, the odor occurs.
 Body odor is the result of bacteria breaking down protein into acids, it changes throughout the life cycle, it's mostly influenced by age, diet, personal hygiene & sometimes genetics. 
 Essential oils contain secondary metabolites that are effective in inhibiting the growth of bacteria, yeasts, and molds. The components of Essential oils have activity against a variety of targets, especially the membrane and cytoplasm, and sometimes, they completely change the morphology of the cells.

Here's how you can apply it:


Tea Tree Oil


- Tea tree essential oil is considered the best for body odor.
- Tea tree oil acts as a natural antiseptic, it's also known for its antibacterial, anti-fungal properties which prevent fungus & bacteria that live on the skin which are the main reason for body odor.

   How To Apply:

- Dilute two tablespoons of tea tree oil in two tablespoons of water.
- Apply this mixture on sweat areas such as underarms.


Coconut Oil


 Coconut oil eliminates all types of microorganisms such as viruses, bacteria & protozoa, it can restore & shield you from germs that cause body odor. 
 Coconut oil has the highest quantity of lauric acid which has antimicrobial elements.
 Lauric acid can assist in eliminating bacteria which is the reason for body odor.



   How To Apply:

- Apply a small amount of coconut oil on sweat areas such as underarms.
         
   For foul body odor

- Blend a teaspoon of citric acid powder into a cup of water.
- Apply this solution to sweat areas such as the underarms after taking your shower.
- Dry your body & apply a small amount of coconut oil on your underarms. 


Peppermint Oil


 Peppermint oil has antimicrobial, antiviral & antibacterial properties.
 Peppermint oil also contains menthol which is an antiseptic agent.

   How To Apply:

- Dilute a few drops of peppermint oil with some water & spray onto sweat areas such as underarms

 Castor Oil


 Castor oil contains a unique fatty acid called ricinoleic acid, this acid is an astringent & a powerful germ killer.
 Castor oil is a cleansing agent, it works on removing toxins through the lymphatic route as soon as it seeps to the skin.
 The lymph nodes are so close to the surface of the skin in the underarm area.

   How To Apply:

- Apply a small amount of castor oil to your underarm area.
- Leave it to stay overnight & wash it in the morning.

Parsley Oil


 The effect of the chlorophyll in parsley neutralizes body odor. 
Parsley also has antiseptic, antimicrobial, and astringent properties.



How To Apply:

- Dilute two tablespoons of parsley oil in two tablespoons of water.
- Apply this mixture on sweat areas such as underarms.
